Okay, so I know that it’s a bit past the halfway point in this challenge, but who cares. I’m impressed with myself and I would like to share this small accomplishment with all of you.
This past Sunday marks the 3 week mark of #TheReadingQuest that I have been participating in. I chose the Rogue path and my original TBR can be found here. I don’t usually plan what I’m going to read so far in advance, but I have to say, that it has taken so much stress out of picking a book.
In these past 3 weeks, I have finished the Rogue pathway by reading these five books, and I couldn’t be happier.
- Small Press – Grey Stone by Jean Knight Pace & Jacob Kennedy
- Partially Obscured Face – The Venetian Bargain by Marina Fiorato
- Banned Book – Brave New World by Aldous Huxely
- One Word Title – Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
- <500 Goodreads Ratings – Wormwood by DH Nevins
Some of the books did change last minute, but I think that they fit into the categories better than my original ones.
I will be writing a couple of reviews in the next week or so for a couple of the books that I really enjoyed.
Through this challenge, I have realized that I really enjoy reading books by indie authors or books that don’t have a lot of popularity around them. These authors have worked just as hard and deserve all the recognition as well.
I will also say, that I love these indie books because the stories are so gosh darn unique and while reading them, I was able to message the authors and talk to them about it. That it such an amazing experience and I am so thankful for that opportunity.
I’m planning on continuing this challenge by either reading my way up the Mage pathway or by doing the Extras in the middle of the board.
My Mage Pathway TBR:
- One Word Title – Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
- Contains Magic – City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
- Mythology – Wonder Woman/Norse Mythology
- Different World – These Broken Stars
- First of Series – Divergent by Veronica Roth
My Extras TBR is the same as it originally was.
I have had so much fun with this reading challenge and am so happy with what I’ve learned about my reading style and preferences. It’s always fun to get out of your comfort zone with reading.
Did you participate in #TheReadingQuest? Let me know what you’ve read and how your challenge is going. I would love to hear about it.
